Assignments

There will be 4 programming assignments. All assignments can be performed in pairs.

The assignments should compile and run on cdf machines. You will be using an SVN repository to manage your assignments. If you need a refresher on how to use Subversion, please refer to the Version Control with Subversion book. Appendix A is a quick start guide and a good place to start.

Assignment 1. Creating small tools.

Specifications: PDF. Input files: A1_files.tar. Final product should look like this.

Assignment 2. Linked lists. Trees. Friends.

Specifications: PDF. Input file: interests.txt. Starter code: a2_starter_code.tar.

Assignment 3. Substrings. Forks. Pipes.

Specifications: PDF. Input file: dna650MB.zip.

Assignment 4. Best mismatch. Sockets.
